Syracuse Class of 2026 Admissions

Anyone else heard anything yet ?

March 18th is what I read someplace. However, does it make sense that the decisions would come out during spring break? Regardless, the waiting is agonizing.

So agonizing and stressful that my daughter actually told me when she gets the email Iā€™m to open it so she doesnā€™t have a panic attack, lol give me one instead! Gotta love it

We are hoping itā€™s this Friday! My kid is visiting next week and donā€™t want to waste her time if she is rejected lol. She applied test optional to this school and so I hope it doesnā€™t her chances. And does anyone know if students admitted regular decision get merit scholarships? From the posts, itā€™s sounding like the early admits from early decision and regular decision (the ones who heard early) get them.

I donā€™t think thatā€™s the case. I believe the scholarships were those you had to actually apply and interview for. My daughter also applied test optional. I was told all applicants get evaluated for Merit. Trust me we are just in need as well. Good luck  From what I read the scholarships were for those going into the study of education and the top scholarships the school gives for their highest level applicants (your straight A+ with tons of AP classes and very high test scores type student).

I know kids who applied ED and got no merit

Who would not need merit for a $75,000/year school ? Lol I donā€™t care how much you make! We are nervous because only one school so far has not given anything and we are almost positive itā€™s because she went test optional there as well. However, it was a bit more competitive to get in there. Best of luck to everyone!

Admissions w leadership awards may come out the week before break (ie, this Friday) - last year they started to trickle out on Fri, 3/5 after 5 pm. But only those w awards. Then each Friday thereafter for the rest of the monthā€¦.

I heard some got their decisions with awards this past Friday as well as some international applicants. Other then the scholarships all the other RD this last week weā€™re international or school of Architecture.

Ok! So maybe the RD without leadership will start to come out this week? I hadnā€™t seen any posts about last weekā€™s notices.

I see a new box for Law Seat Deposit that has popped up in parent portal of MySlice. Wonder if that means anything. Sti no update under Admit Acceptance box.

Iā€™m going with this as the best estimate.

My daughter was admitted regular decision last year, did not submit SAT or ACT and got a leadership scholarship (28k per year) She got her decision the 1st week of March, about a week before most decisions were released.

Sheā€™s loving her freshman year and is very happy with her decision to go to Syracuse. Good luck to you! I remember waiting and how much anxiety was involved. Iā€™m sure the right school will happen, whether itā€™s SU or not!

So leadership awards are only awarded early ? We would definitely need at least that to afford Syracuse. May I ask what her stats were ?

If I remember correctly, Leadership scholars were notified a week before other RD applicants. (I canā€™t speak for other Merit awards) The 28k did not include any additional financial aid (We werenā€™t eligible). She did get another scholarship after her 1st semester for being on the Deans listā€¦ (An extra 2k per year)

She had an unweighted GPA of 98.7 in high school (7th in a class of 260)with several AP and college in the classroom credits. No standardized test scores due to COVID, but a number of extracurriculars involving Theatre, Dance, Sports, Student Government and volunteering.

Weā€™re in the same boat waiting to hear from SU for our Niece and hoping for significant financial support as well.

Forgot to add 1 item. There was no interview for the Leadership Scholarship . It was awarded based on your application. We did tour, but she never met with anyone from admissions.

Good luck everyone!

We are really hoping for money. Sheā€™s gotten money from every school sheā€™s applied to, but Ohio State. Which of course is her top school besides Syracuse. She is in an honors program. 17 honors and AP classes. 4.6 GPA when submitted and now has almost a 4.8 GPA after submitting first semester grades. Four year softball athlete. Volunteer time. Political campaign volunteer. Very personal essay and great recommendations. We were feeling pretty decent about things, but then Ohio State threw us for a loop and now we are scared to even find out if sheā€™ll even get into Syracuse. We are really hoping that Syracuse pulls through  sheā€™s leaving Sunday to go see it so we will see. Thank you for your response!
