Syracuse ED 2018 Thread

Have you guys applied to any other schools?

It’s going to be so great to meet people from all over the nation/world (if I get accepted hahaaa)

If Syracuse doesn’t work out, I’m just gonna go to UTSA my freshman year, then transfer into UT Austin.

That’s a great idea! I may just go to a local school and then transfer to SU the following year. I’m sure you will get in though

It needs to be next weekend like right now. I just want to know if I got in. This next week or so is going to be the absolute worst

@xobrianna21 I’m in the process right now how about you?

@dreamingofcuse96 I’ve applied to actually a lot of schools. I freaked out not too long ago and just thought I wasn’t getting in at all so I applied to a bunch of common app schools that have no fee/supplement. (Stupid, I know) But I know I don’t want to go anywhere but cuse so idk

@xobrianna21 ahh I feel ya girly, I won’t know until the end of December most likely because of my scores. I feel like you’re definitely in but that’s good that you applied to a couple safeties

Basically half of every senior class at my school ends up going to either UVA or William and Mary but I honestly just want a fresh start with new people and a new place. I wanna get into Cuse so bad haha, this waiting is horrible

@dreamingofcuse96 my safeties are super random though, oh well. And well you’ll totally kick butt on your SAT (if you haven’t already taken it) and get in! We are all going to get accepted and it is going to be the best Christmas/Hanukkah/holidays/new years present ever

@winterfell123 that is my life. I am sooo excited to get away and be somewhere I really want to be. It seems stupid to me to go to one of those giant state schools with everyone and have it be like high school all over again

((Hope I haven’t offended anyone with either of those replies haha))

@xobrianna21 ahhhh maybe if we both get in we will be future roomies tehe. But really I’m so excited for college, my life would be complete if I were to get accepted into this school. My town is supper small and I just need to get out of here yk

@dreamingofcuse96 yes! I have my countdown to graduation on my phone. I can’t wait until I’m accepted and can start a countdown to cuse. I’ve only lived in like big suburbs and even then they always start to feel small, can’t wait to get out of here

@xobrianna21 yesssss, I hope we can all start a countdown to cuse!

@xobrianna21 yesssss, I hope we can all start a countdown to cuse!

Does anyone think we can hear tomorrow? In past years the website said ED applicants would find out in “Mid-December” but this year it says “Early December.” Tomorrow being the first Friday of December and I would say anything before the 15th is early December, so maybe the two batches will come out this week and next week. What does everyone think?

I would say it’s possible, but not likely.

Today I got my tutor, principal, and social worker to write recommendation letters for me do you think that will help my chances or be an annoyance to the admission officers since I already have two teachers and a guidance counselor one?

I had sent in a parental letter of recommendation after I spoke with someone at the admissions office about it. It sounds like they don’t guarantee that they will give much time to looking at non-required letters, but it also did not sound like they considered it a nuisance. It just may not make a difference either way.

I had letters of recommendation too, but that was because they asked for them from my boss at the news organization I work with as well as my boss at an NGO I work with. I think they asked for them because they allow the admissions office to get a better a view of what the candidate is like outside of school.

However, it might be a little late to send those in now unless the admissions office directly asked for them from you.

@dreamingofcuse96 When I visited they said too many recommendations did tend to be an annoyance, up to you though, if they’re strong they can’t hurt.
