@Zdallas99 They have, at least for the most part. I got mine on the 16th for theatre, and my friend got his for film. I also know a couple of friends who got rejections last week. But don’t lose hope! This next wave could be a mix of acceptances, rejections, and waitlists. What major did you apply for?
Haven’t heard from Whitman, 3.5 GPA 1300 SAT, mostly honor/APs. Should I be worried or relieved? Also what times do they normally send out acceptances and rejections? (Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings)
@WEaise75 the pattern looks like they’ve been releasing on Fridays around 5/6pm ET
@rastapasta00 Think they’ll do it on Good Friday though?
@Hoping4SU shoot that’s a good point. I have no clue, is their office open this Friday?
This was just posted on their Twitter page:
“An app goes through several steps of review and is viewed by several members of the admissions committee. We received 35,000 applications and there are still many applications under review. Thank you for your patience!”
However, how is that fair for the more competitive programs? I know someone who got into the Newhouse PR transfer program, for which there are 10 spots. That’s the program I applied to.

Still have the ‘No financial aid at this time’ message
I called admissions and the lady i talked to said that some people will probably hear back 1st week of April. If you don’t hear back Friday , you may have to wait till next week.
Okay, thanks for calling. Has anyone been accepted during the week or only weekends?
i applied to the college of arts & sciences and I’m still waiting to hear from them
Based on last year, and what we’re all seeing this year, I would say that the majority of applicants are hearing on Fridays, after 6:00 PM. This assumes that CC users are in some way representative of the actual applicant population. So it was the 16th, the 23rd…and one would assume the 30th
Thank you! One of my friends actually got in on Sunday the 11th… If not the 30th because of Good Friday, then perhaps the 6th.
Right…seems like a trickle of acceptances or whatever the notifications are, day by day, but generally a big batch for RD’s on Fridays. Is Good Friday an actual no-work day? It would be nice to rip this band-aid off before the weekend!
I called admissions yesterday and they told me the school is open this Friday.
Looks like they work on Good Friday. https://hr.syr.edu/benefits/paid-time-off-and-leaves/holiday-schedule Hopefully we’ll hear then!
I recall that on the 2021 thread, there were decision notifications well into April. Don’t know if those were waitlist people or not. Pretty much every other school, even bigger ones, have a single day or a couple of days over which they send out email notifications. Wondering why SU’s process is so atypical from my other experiences.
I hope it doesnt mean bad news
Rumor has it Wednesday is the day. According to a college counselor at our local high school.
It would be pretty cool if Wednesday is the day. Syracuse is definitely proof of how weird and random the college application process is
