Syracuse tuition worth it??

Hi! I’m a Sophomore in high school but I’ve started to look at possible colleges I’d like to apply to. Syracuse is one of my top one’s but the tuition/total cost is kinda daunting (to me, at least).

My parents have always told me to aim for less expensive school because I can’t qualify for financial aid due to their income but I’d still need it. At the moment I’m not afraid of student loans (I feel like that would kinda motivate me to stay on track). But is Syracuse worth it?

No, full tution is not worth it at Syracuse. However my friends daughter was just accepted at SU ED and received a $25,000 scholarship. They were shocked, did not expect anything from SU so go for it and you never know what will happen.

They did not qualify for any aid either. Just wanted to clarify…

@sammy2142 Personally, I do not feel that it is worth the full cost. I’m a current student and absolutely love Syracuse, but there is absolutely no way I would attend without the scholarship/aid I received. There are a lot of schools that are comparable to/ better than Syracuse that are cheaper that I would look into. I would still apply though, you never know what kind of merit scholarship you could receive.

I think the better question might be, is an SU education worth $x of debt? The 2nd best question, is an SU education worth the incremental $Y that it will cost above a public university? If SU will cost $5/year above State U, leaving you with $8 debt then it very possibly is. If the annual incremental cost is $50, leaving you with $40 debt then it isn’t.
