*Syracuse University Class OF 2016: Early Decision Thread*

Last year and the year before emails went out the second and third Friday of December…hoping that happens again and that I’m in that first pool

That would be awesome.

Wow… Could it be ironic that I am off from school next Friday ( teachers have faculty meeting)… Oh boy!

I called and emailed SU again, and finally got a sufficient answer. It looks like my problem will be solved.

The next two weeks will be intense… Good Luck to everyone. Let’s hope our clear interest in SU pays off.

will syracuse ever tell us a specific date that they are planning on emailing us the decision? or will they always just say “before december 23rd”?

They said around December 15th, though we are speculating it could be as early as this coming week…

ah thats exciting!!! what is the reason you are speculating that?! and also would it be on a specific day? like thursday…friday…etc?

A poster mentioned how the last 2 years Syracuse has begun notifying applicants their decisions on the 2nd and 3rd Friday’s of December.

(not to be really annoying) but my GPA is a 93/100, sats 1910, and i’m the captain of dance squad and the managing editor of the school newspaper. can anyone tell me if they think i’ll get in if i applied early decision?!

What major ?

I’m not even going to bother answering. I don’t mean to be rude, but determining your chances holds no weight on the actual decision; why even bother?

okay sorry. good point

would they ever send out notifications before friday?

i doubt it…but no on really knowss

I’m deff thinking friday.

Friday would be nice!

XCcoasterfreak, I am also having the same issue with myslice saying I am missing my senior postmark grades but my grades will not be released till January. I emailed too and they gave me a vague answer so I was just wondering what was the sufficient answer that you recieved? I am just totally lost on what to do and worried this will affect my admission decision.

Nadizzle 94: do you have a college counseler? if so you should have him/her call. or you can call yourself so you can get a straight answer

Nadizzle, since my school also doesn’t operate on a quarter system, my counselor is faxing the undergraduate admissions office a request for an exemption. If that doesn’t work, I’m sending in my progress report marks. I am unsure if your school gives out progress report cards also, but just talk to your counselor to write up a brief letter and have him/her fax it out to them.

The admissions representative who answered me on the phone was pretty reassuring about it, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just be sure to notify your counselor and try to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

This is also an e-mail I got from them in case you wanted some more clarification:

Oh, and I got a letter in the mail from the Office of Admissions today (postmarked on 11/30):

I doubt they will be sending out admissions decisions earlier than the 15th, guys.
