Idk they sent me that exact letter like two weeks ago (because I applied in October) so maybe they will notify in order in which they received the applications.

Yeah, I applied the day before the deadline, so notifying based on date of application submission seems to be the most ideal system.

Just to clarify, SU isn’t rolling admissions ( checked with admissions office). Meaning, one person doesn’t have a better chance applying in october as opposed to november. In fact, I dont think the date is even taken into account… Once all of your info is in, the application can begin being reviewed.

Fruitipatuti: I do have a college counselor and I have literally bugged her so many times on this issue but she is adamant that she cannot do anything till January… But I am going to talk to her again tomorrow and just beg her to help me out in some way haha I know we have progress reports so I do not understand why I cannot send that…
XCcoasterfreak: Thank you so much!! I will definitely talk to my counselor and I will stay persistent. I hope she can send it out before admission decisions are sent back! Plus I will try to call Syracuse and explain my situation over the phone. Thanks again!

Good luck to everybody on admission decisions!:)

Miselis, that makes a little more sense, thanks!

And no problem, Nadizzle! Good luck to you as well.

i heard that last year they sent out the decisions in bunches. so like on the second friday of november some were sent… then the next friday more…etc.

i mean december not november

Hey guys, don’t be surprised if decisions begin being sent out on Friday. Last year the early decision deadline was the 15th of november as well, and decisions were sent out beginning around the 2nd friday of december… Cant wait!

ah! I am so excited! MiselisM do you think you have a good chance of getting in ?

Its tough to say… My 2nd and 3rd choice options I will likely get into, but Newhouse is such a toss up… Grades and SAT wise I’m below the average but I’m basically a professional journalist and have made appearances on espn radio, etc… Hoping the other parts of my application could get me admission… Since its early, I have a decent shot.

nice! So what happens if you get into your second choice? Is it still binding? I’m doing the same thing

If I get denied from newhouse but get into my 2nd choice, it’s no longer binding…

can you get deferred from your first choice and into your second?

SU doesn’t defer, so you can only be admitted or rejected.

SU does defer. If you can’t be admitted ED to any of your choices but they see the possibility that you can be admitted depending on the strength of the RD pool they can defer you.

I was told that Newhouse applicants can’t be deferred to regular decision…

I’m so excited!! December 9th…

Will someone call and ask when they are sending them out? I am too scared! But I don’t want to get too excited for Friday and be dissappointed!

In the past they have sent them out in waves. If we don’t see anything this Friday we will almost definitely see something next Friday.

So i applied ED to newhouse as did many of you and i sent my 1st marking period grades like 3 weeks ago and they never noted that they received them in myslice, so my guidance counselor just resent them electronically yesterday. do u think its a problem that my application is “incomplete” in myslice? can they not accept me because of this?
