I agree with “relivecuse” going to syracuse has been a dream of mine since I was 13 and I didn’t even have to think twice about applying ED. I was excited and prepared to hear back on Friday, now here I am waiting and re reading my application finding everything wrong with it and wondering if I even have a shot at all and if syracuse is even right for me. I know in my heart it’s the only place I want to be but this uncertainty can mess with everyones head. Just remember that wherever you end up i\s where you’re suppose to be, and trust me, I know how it feels when you feel like getting into this school is the only thing that matters. But there will be many other situations in life more monumental than this. It shows a lot about a person how you handle stressful/anxious times. Just gotta chill and make the best of it.

I’ve recently learned that the reason we haven’t heard yet is because the dean of admissions for Newhouse has been very sick for the last couple weeks, so they haven’t been able to finish the final commission, I assume we’ll hear sooner rather than later, and if not chill out it’ll all turn out ok.

Everyone needs to just relax and breathe. It’s normal to be second-guessing yourself and your decision to go ED to ‘cuse… it’s all the apprehension and anxiety over getting in + the frustration of this perceived delay. Please put it in perspective though… it’s a perceived delay. The 15th was a date you guys stuck to- the University never said when. Does it suck they are coming out after every other school’s early action decisions have come out? Yes. Does it make you look at other schools you have gotten into and question your decision? Yes. However, you have to put it all in perspective and remember why you applied, why you felt ‘cuse was your perfect fit and know that one way or another you will have a decision and it will be soon. Positive mental attitude- keep it light and try and see the silver lining… and above all else… don’t doubt yourself. You are good enough- Where you go to school does not define you. Breathe folks… and enjoy the holidays…

I heard the delay is because the aliens that the NYT’s has been reporting about abducted the Dean of Admissions. They let him out Friday though so they should be soon. The whole thing sucks but it is what it is. Regardless, I’ve told the fam to stop asking.
