A note to those who have received their decision and are accepted - congratulations! If you haven’t gotten a decision yet, please don’t worry…

I stated this earlier in the thread, but there are two waves of decisions, with the next one being next Friday. If you haven’t received the email, you’re going to have to hang in there.

My son received his email around 4:55pm EST today. He applied to Newhouse but got into Arts & Sciences. Disappointing but we knew his GPA might be an issue. His stats: GPA 3.1, SAT 1910, ACT 29, SAT Subject History 740, History AP exam - scored highest/5, Lots of AP/Honors classes, Editor-in-Chief of school newspaper, paid freelance writer for online news publication, interview, legacy (mom went to newhouse).

Accepted to ISchool today. Was told by Admissions this morning that notifications would go out all the way up to the Holidays. Stay positive. Remember to check your spam folder.

How fast do we have to give a decision by? I was told that within ten days of the acceptance, I have to decline all other schools? and when will I be given my financial aid information?

The letter that my daughter received says that, “To reserve your place in the fall class, please submit the online Admission Acceptance Form (AAF) and any applicable advance payments no later than February 15, 2013.”

well guys I got denied and I can honestly say this is the hardest ive ever cried and the worst I’ve ever felt. Knew I would be upset but I have never felt a feeling of such devastation before. I wish you all the best who are attending and to yet to find out their admission decision! It’s such an awesome school and I know you all will have an incredible time on the orange campus. I hope to join you all sophomore year because I plan to transfer into SU. To those concerned you will not get in, do not be concerned off of my denial. my gpa and SAT just simply did not match SU. Thank you all for your positivity and kindness throughout this stressful process.

I’m so sorry, bcuse911, but keep your chin up. There is another school out there for you. Did you happen to apply anywhere else? Wherever you do go, you can always transfer to Syracuse–and you’ll get in then. I’m a mom–my son is applying to Syracuse. But I can tell you I did not get accepted to my first choice when I was your age. I just went somewhere else and transfered into my first choice later. It will all work out.

sorry to hear that. You gave it a shot and its not over yet…Make it your goal to transfer in…use the rejection as motivation…Don’t let them dictate your future, you make your future

Thank you all for the positive words! I really needed to hear stuff like this at this really terrible time for me.Your words have truly made me feel a bit better. I applied to many other schools so I hope to hear a “yes” soon.

Im sorry to kill the mood in this thread, those who got in , congratulations and I hope you are all celebrating now! @buffalogirl my fingers are crossed for you! I feel we share the same passion for cuse and it would truly make me happy to see you get in!

again, best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!

I got denied from Newhouse (Expected it), but accepted to the college of education!!!

Stats: 3.6 Weighted GPA
SAT: 1570
Visited the campus

Tried to get an interview but could not because hurricane sandy struck when they were supposed to be in my area! So happy right now, did not think I was getting in!

@bcuse911. I’m a high school guidance counselor and I do feel for u. I see it every year at this time. The tears…oh the tears. But really don’t give up a transfer in is always a great option. They don’t look back at ur high school stats they only wanna c what u did ur freshmen year in college. So don’t give up on ur dream if this is really the place for u. I always tell my students its not where u start its where u end up that counts! And I also wanted to say. U sent a shout out to buffalogirl95 and that’s my niece. She wants it so bad too… I totally respect the support u have given even at this ****ty time. So kudos to u! Keep ur head up!
