Congratulations to all of the #secondwavegang and to the first wavers from a Syracuse Alum and father of a first wave accepted student. It would be helpful if all of you second wavers would post your stats so that future applicants will know what type of students SU accepts during ED. Congratulations to all of you and GO ORANGE!

Very shocked I got in. However this is a new step to a great college experience.

Got my financial aid package. Not what we were expecting. Got accepted to Newhouse, but don’t think I’m going to be able to afford it. So devestated :(

Not on Twitter yet. Anyway what do you think they look at for Sports Management to only take 5O kids is insane. Honored to be one of them, truly honored.

@worldforgetting - ughhh me too
I was accepted into Newhouse but just got a financial aid package for $2750/semester in Fed Direct Unsubsidized loans and I’m confused as to if that’s all I’m getting or if that’s only one of the part of the full package. If that’s all I’m getting, there is no way we can afford SU. My dad’s pushing me to apply to more schools (whose application deadlines are in the next couple of weeks) but I thought I was done applying since it’s binding!

Is anyone else having this problem? I think collegeboard said that the average freshman financial aid package was around $30,000. So I’m just wondering why mine is so low right now…

Does everyones accepted students form have their program of choice on it? Mine says The DAvid Falk College but it doesn’t have my program listed. On my common app it says that i applied for Sport Management. So why does it say undecided on my accepted students thing and not Sport Management.

does anyone know how or when we find about scholarships??

“I thought I was done applying since it’s binding!”

It’s binding if you ACCEPT the financial aid offer; if you don’t, you decline the offer and apply RD elsewhere.

@vonlost do you know if the accepted students form should list our program on it. Mine does not even though my common app indicates i picked a program. They cant accepted into a program I didn’t pick can they? It says undecided but I most certainly did not pick that.

Sorry, I don’t know. :(

@worldforgetting @pickle23 try to contact the office of financial aid and explain that you will not be able to attend with the package you were given and see if it is possible to receive more money. I’m not sure if it will work but I know of others that have done this and received more money with just a phone call.

I got into Newhouse and my financial aid is pretty good. Is that money (“Syracuse University Grant”) based on the CSS Profile we were required to fill out? I am also aware that some extra money will be awarded through FAFSA too.
