Syracuse University ED release date

I asked about that on my tour but one isn’t more competitive than another besides the bandier program. They could fill all ~400 spots with BDJ majors if they wanted to (but they won’t), so there isn’t a certain number of students they take per major (besides like i said, the bandier program) hope this helped!

no!!! It just means ur in the second wave (I am too)! It’s totally unfair how they do it but syracuse released their ed in rounds on separate days. Hopefully this week it’s going to come out!

does anybody know when financial aid packages will be released?

PHEW thank you i was just very scared for a bit

Does anyone know when the second wave is ?

@youokayhay how many students did they say, on your tour, get into Newhouse overall each year? Only 400 in total?

Does anyone know how many freshman they take for the Falk sports management program . And what the stats are for admitted students ? Applying regular decision. thank you

I know the question wasn’t directed at me, but the website says…“Newhouse received approximately 3,200 applications for a first-year class of 420. The typical admitted first-year student has a 3.8 GPA and an SAT score in the 1300s”. I am not sure exactly what year these stats were from, but I imagine it is pretty similar each year.

Wonder if that 420ish# is just those solely in Newhouse or if it factors in those dually enrolled…I mean they too are enrolled and had to have been reviewed by both schools they applied to in order to gain acceptance but I know that the home school of dual students is typically not Newhouse, even though students get an advisor at both colleges they are dually enrolled.

What @syrious explained is what they told me on my tour as well because many were surprised at how selective they really are. I want to say that number does include dual-major students because they are enrolled in Newhouse but don’t quote me on that!

I would think it is across the board acceptances. Like you said, they had to have been accepted into Newhouse as well as their second major, so it makes sense. I recall in the parent session I attended that they mentioned that a large proportion of students do at least a minor, if not a dual major. I don’t really see any reason why the double majors wouldn’t be included in the total.

Yes, I was told everyone in Newhouse has to have either a minor or a second major in another school!

Ok, yes - I had forgotten that my daughter told me that. “Must” not “can”. Lol. I still can’t believe she is in. Proud Momma right here. So happy for all who were accepted, and fingers crossed to all who haven’t heard yet. How agonizing! Best of luck to all and I hope that second (and hopefully last) wave goes out tonight.
