I'm prospective student of M.Eng in Systems Engineering. Recently, I gathered information related to SE and got a idea that SE is usually achieved as a Minor option with other major such as CS or EE. So I want to ask you how many people has a master of SE major without dependency of other major like CS or EE now in cornell? Doesn't SE has a any merit without other major when pursuing master degree?

Systems engineering is very new and was just introduced within the last 2 years I believe, hence why few people have gone that route so far. I think as with all new cirriculums few companies understand what they do, which is a problem ISST, Cornell's new information science engineering major, also suffers from. That probably explains why people opt for the established majors like CS and EE and take Systems as a minor. I personally do not know of anyone doing a Systems major. As for M. Eng in Systems I don't think that's any less than a M. Eng in CS or EE. Cornell have people who travel and give presentations to companies about their majors and new curriculums, so I would imagine you wouldn't have much trouble explaining what your M. Eng specialty does in the near future. If you like Systems, definitely go for it.
