T-Shirt

so this is kinda random...but are they supposed to send you a t-shirt? i know for other schools they either just send you one or you have to fill in a tshirt size when you return the enrollment form.

Nah. But you can order one online at the CMU store. Delivery takes about a week to the west coast.

You’ll get a t-shirt at orientation!
Engineers get their own t-shirts then too…

And then after first semester, you’ll get a CMU alumni shirt.

Haha free t-shirts are awesome.
=)

oh haha thanks guys :)

No kidding free T-shirts! Son is a senior and I just checked - about a dozen stored at home; I’m sure he has at least that many with him! Between events on campus, clubs, and visiting companies, you may never need to buy a T-shirt again!

It was a little disconcerting because I had more Cornell shirts in my luggage coming out here than CMU shirts, but neverthless…

CMU related t-shirts after one year:

0) Bagger Shirt (Nov. of senior year to be fair)

 1. Orientation Shirt
 2. House Wars decorated shirt
 3. Fraternity letters
 4. Fraternity Fall Rush Shirt
 5. Fraternity Spring Rush Shirt
 6. Intramural Champion shirt #1
 7. Gates-Hillman Center SCS dedication shirt
 8. Random software company from career fair shirt
 9. Barefoot soccer champion shirt
 10. Intramural Champion shirt #2
 11. CMU Biomedical Engineering shirt (for those who follow, yes i’m CS. Don’t ask…)
 12. And a few more from random organizations

best freebie though? Facebook umbrella! seriously… they must have known cs kids would have been too aloof to bring their own

Ditto-- My D left many of these shirts home this year…I proudly wear some of these to the gym…

And she picked up a bunch again this year – several more left home on winter break.

And at parents weekend we both got matching knitting polos with CIT on them…they were very nice.

A free hoodies now and then would be nice… but wait for Parents Weekend or Carnival- the bookstore pops out a bunch on a “sidewalk sale” for only $10 …that’s when we picked up zip ups and hoodies for the entire family…and the “CMU proud parent” bumper sticker - b/c oh well, it’s the tacky thing to do …

CMU is known to be notoriously generous about giving freshmen free crap. After one year I’ve accumulated:

A CMU “Creative Writing” mug and saucer

HSS “Connect” shirt

PNC bank shirt (given for free with my new CMU account)

HSS “De-stress” shirt

A bunch of unrelated HSS stuff, like a squeeze stress ball

A “Sex Kills: Come to CMU and live forever” shirt (I feel 100% more baller when I wear this.)

Orientation shirt(s). One for Orientation, one for my college.

Purple Mudge House shirt

Mudge logo shirt

Mudge logo pants

Gates Hillman shirt from when ol’ Bill was visiting campus

Free nerd shirts that random companies give away sometimes

A shirt I got for completing a survey from the Quality of Life center

Software Engineering merchandise (mug, pen, plate, water bottle, shirt).

Whoo.
