TabletPC and note-taking progs

Macs are unique. I'm not too familiar with them. I wouldn't switch if you have lots of software and electronic equipment (I have a tablet, dell axim, music library) that only support Windows.

With the prices for tablets these days, you can get alot more going the non-tablet route. At the time, I bought my tablet (I spent $2000). That money would have gotten me a sweet Dell XPS 1710 or $1200 for XPS 1210. But I thought to give Gateway a try (We are Dell Family-2 PC's and 2 laptops from them. Employee Purchasing).

Mm, true, while you could've gotten the XPS M1710, computer parts do become "old" quickly. If you're looking to play the most recent games, then its better to get a desktop which you can continually upgrade. Case in point: I got a ATi Radeon X1900XT back in August, and I thought I had the best card there. Now, I can get equivalent performing cards for $100-$150 less than for what I paid.
