TAG GPA Deadline

Hi there folks

Does anyone happen to know when the UC Davis TAG 3.2 gpa requirement is needed? I after this summers coursework I will still be shy of the 3.2 but, by the end of Fall 2020. I will have the gpa there but, that is well after the September 30th application deadline.

I’ve tried reading on the websites and checking on the TAG Matrix but I have been unable to find any answer.

Thank you guys in advance for any help.

You need to have your TAG GPA meet the requirements at time of application so it would be by end of summer since the TAG application is due September 30th. You can still apply for regular admission.

Well that is too bad. Thank you for letting me know.

Just apply even if you don’t meet the GPA requirement. You never know what will happen.

UCD is one of the few campuses that lets you know if your TAG is accepted early and will roll you over to regular admissions if you do not meet the requirements. However, why waste your TAG on a school where you do not qualify. Use your TAG at another school where your GPA meets the criteria.

@irishpubgoer15 @Gumbymom
UCSB is the only UC that allows the minimum TAG GPA to be met by end of fall.

Thank you at @Ohm888 as always.

Likewise to you @gumbymom! ?

Thank you for the idea unfortunetly, I’m an older student with a family and home that is pretty close to Davis so UCSB wouldn’t exactly be option for me, without uprooting my family entirely. After checking out https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major my end of Fall 2020 numbers be right in the middle so, I believe I will okay.

It sounds like you may fall into the non-traditional student category. UC says

You should contact the person at Davis for advice on applying. Can't hurt to ask if Davis can give a waiver on the GPA for TAG until the end of Fall semester. Chances may be slim, but they are zero if you don't ask.

You can also ask the Undergrad Dean of the college you are applying to for a waiver, hopefully citing some extenuating circumstances. Deans are like demi-gods at a UC, they have power to waive just about any rule.
