TAG more than one uc???

If you are transferring from a ccc can you sign a tag with more than one UC?

Yes. I’ve signed one with three.

when you guys sign the tag you can check multiple uc’s. did you guys check all the uc’s you wanted an agreement with? or did you fill out 5 individual tag forms and send them all to the different uc’s?

The TAG form clearly states that they will only be mailed to one individual campus. Since it is an intense paperwork process, they can’t be mailed around to different campuses. So you have to do all individual TAG forms. Once the paperwork is done, your counselor takes it from there and has the appropriate people sign it before it goes to the campus.

Hope it helps! [:

i dont think thats right sakurax… i just checked the boxes that i had tag with. I believe this is the first year of TAG that no paperwork is necessary.

This is right on the top of the TAG application:
"Check the box(es) of the UC campus(es) to which you plan on applying and list a proposed major. "

<a href=“Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions”>Understanding UC transfer | UC Admissions; – page 5

This would clearly indicate that you can apply for a TAG at more than one school. You might want to check up on these things before you answer incorrectly with such conviction.

one time a counselor at my ccc told me:

‘the tag is guaranteed because you are committing yourself to the college. since they know that you are committed to the college they will accept you because it helps them figure out the number of incoming students.’

i know your not really binding your soul to a specific uc, but isnt it still kind of weird commiting yourself to more then 1 uc? i guess my counselor was wrong

Same. My counselor told me that if I wanted to apply to do the TAG form I would have to fill out the individual form for each campus because of the fact that the TAG form requires the campus representative to sign. (She had a student who wanted to do UCD and UCI and she showed me the two TAG forms and paperwork she had to do! Yikes. @__@) The UCD Rep who went to my school had to sign it before it went up to Davis, making it impossible for me use it for different campuses.

ya, just to play it safe im going to do 4-7 seperate tag forms for all the uc’s that im going to apply to. no one will ever know

^
Good choice! Best of luck. [:

when i talked to my counselor she had one sheet that had all the UC’s that were TAG applicable. i checked off UCSB and UCSD, and then she signed it. Then i checked the boxes next to SD and SB online during my application. i didn’t have to do any separate tag forms >.<

^
You’re lucky! You know what I think it is though, your counselor probably made copies of the completed TAG form and then sent it to both of them separately. That’s what I’m thinking of. Because when you think about it, how could that one TAG form be sent to both of them? Haha. There’s the answer, just make copies! [:

My counselor also took me all throughout the process, I filled out most of it and then we did the IGETC, it was a long two hours let’s just say. Although my counselor went into this discussion how one TAG form for all of them could be a hassle for them, maybe it’s just the CC tho. We only have one Honors counselor and one person who signs at the end of the day. :/

Thanks for all your help guys; i’m out of state so I cant really ask anyone.

Also I heard a rumor that if you apply to UCB or UCLA as a transfer student, then all the TAGs are broken and if you dont get into UCB or UCLA that year you have to reapply to the UCs that you had TAGs with. Is any of this true? it sounds kinda weird.

Also one more question, when do you start the TAG process? do you sign it your first year or do you do it right before you apply?

Thanks again for the help!

HamzG: that is completely false. neither UCB or UCLA have the TAG. UCLA has their own version, the TAP. As for the admission, all the universities admit applicants independently so no TAGs are “broken”

You are most welcome! [:

That rumor is not true. TAGs are not invalidated because you were/were not accepted to any other UC campus.

You may start the TAG process as soon as you have completed 30.0 units. Specific UC campuses have different outlines for their TAGs. Some allow you to file year-round (such as Riverside) and others only for specific quarters/semesters. This would be a really long post if I went into specifics…so here is the website!
