My dream schools is UPenn. I'm also interested in Yale and Harvard which I know are long shots, but hey a girl can dream. Also if you have any suggestion of well-known schools taht I could possible be accepted into I would appreciate it. Here's my info:

African-American female
Junior in High School

GPA: 3.3 unweighted/ 3.5 weighted

All AP/ Honors Classes

PSAT: 600 reading 600 writing 450 math

EC'S

-head of community service commitee
-class secretary
-varsity golfer
-many hours of community service

Not too sound too harsh but your grades, PSATs, and ECs are not exactly Penn-level stats. However, there is good news for you. You're a junior. Which means that you have time.

Make sure you take the SAT for the first time this March, if not earlier. This will allow to retake it 1 or 2 more times if you need to. For Penn you're going to need 2100+ to have a strong chance.

It's easier said that done, but you also need nothing less than straight As for the rest of this year and fall of next year. 3.3 is extremely low for Penn, but if you pull straight As in your honors courses, it could give your GPA a substantial boost.

Also, enhance the ECs that you already have. For example, take a run for class president, and try your best to stand out on the golf team, to perhaps become Captain. For schools like Penn, simply being a team member is not enough - you have to distinguish yourself in some way. Continue and diversify your community service.

Also, you're African American which tends to help in the admissions game, but at a place like Penn, they won't simply admit you because of this. The student quality must be exemplary, whether a minority or not.

Best of luck! Feel free to message me if you have any further questions.
