Hi i am 16 and am a junior in high school. I will be applying to school next year. I am a bit nervous because my top choices are two of the most prestigious art schools in the United States. My top choice is California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) and my second choice is Ringling school of art and design. I hope to major in character animation!

These schools don't look at grades and mine aren't so great but i do have an average of a 3.0 throughout my years so far in high school. I am taking lots of extra curriculars ie: Dance, Art, this summer im going to the ringling precollege program, i went to pasadina art center saterday high. im doing youth and government, theruputic riding assisting and more! My artist skills are pretty decent if you want to check out my work and give your opinion on what you think please just check me out on animated buzz Animatedbuzz - An Animation Social Network - Sydney Berman

I am constintly working on my art and always building my portfolio! my art instructor is Sheldon Borenstein and he is pretty well known within the animation indistry and is an art instructor at chapman university as well as san jose state. My writing is pretty good and ive been practicing my Artist's statement (essay) a lot. My worry is that the acceptance rate for my specific major at cal arts is 10-15%!!! thats pretty crazy! so PLEASE LET ME KNOW do i have a chance?
