LOL I just logged on to post that here :-)

It’s a great video and I hope you all enjoy a bit of Rice, especially for those that can’t visit otherwise.

Thanks for sharing. I am going to pass this link on to my son, who is a junior. We are from the Chicago area–so a visit to Rice is not easy–and this video gives a great overview. We toured Wash U in St Louis over the summer, and my son loved it. After telling his counselor how much he loved WUSTL, she suggested that he look into Rice, as it also fits in well with his academic record and interests. I must say that we are both impressed with what we have seen and read so far! It seems to have many of the same qualities he loves about WUSTL. (I will add that we are both aware of how competitive admissions are…so realize that he should continue to look at many schools).

Thanks again for posting!

My son is currently enrolled at Rice as a Freshman and we live in Chicago suburbs. He was admitted to WashU, Rice and Hopkins. He was admitted to Summer Research program in Biological and BioMed research at WashU. He chose Rice and so far looks like he made the right choice. The school matches his personality. This is his first Semester and he is already involved in research. This week We are flying down to Houston for Parents’ weekend. When it comes to academics and research opportunities, You can’t go wrong with WashU or Rice…

One big plus with Rice over WashU is that Rice does not have any additional applications for scholarships. I think it may have been that issue that caused S to not apply to WUSTL. He is immensely happy at Rice though :-)

Thanks for the posts Chances1 and crazymomster-great information from both of you. It would be absolutely divine to get accepted to either or both of these two great schools:-). Congrats to both of your sons, they must be terrific students.
