Take SATs for a third time?

So here's my dilemma:

I've generally gotten good scores on the SAT.

Last year
730 CR
800 M
630 (62 MC, 9 E) W
2160 Composite

And this year
780 CR
800 M
630 (64 MC, 8 E) W
2210 Composite

Should I retake it to pull up my writing score? I'm ****ed because I studied and it stayed the same!!! :-( :-(. Help me on writing please? Because I missed only 7 questions on October's SAT test date and that dropped me down to a 64 MC score.

This is of a concern to me only because I'm applying to umm...Harvard, Columbia, MIT, and a few other schools. And no I'm not a prestige whore.

Well first of all...I got a 2160 on my second testing (Oct.) and I was ecstatic!! Haha but I'm not trying to get into Harvard, so...

I think it is worth it to take it ONE more time so long as you study and are pretty sure you can actually bring your writing score up. However, it seems like you're a math-inclined person (I'm going to guess you want to major in something more math/science related) so your writing score isn't the most important thing. But then again I don't know much about private schools, so I don't know how helpful my advice can be.

writing also isn't looked at (as closely). maybe you should try to get it up to 700-750 though.

The problem is I don't know how to up my writing score. The study books don't help at all because in writing, shortcuts FAIL. It seems like I have to learn grammar inside out in order to get a perfect on writing MC. I'm unable to say "this sentence is better because it flows better" and crap like that for some reason.
