Oh my God... I'm sitting at my computer breezing through sample tests of this thing and it's ****ing easy... even the math section. I should have taken this goddmn thing!

Take the ACT!!!

Many find the questions in the ACT easier than the SAT and think it will be easy going in. Those same persons often walk out of the ACT concerned because the time pressure on the ACT left them speed guessing the last several questions in each section.

Oh yes. Wait til the test comes. You will run out of time, especially on math and science. Almost for certain science. Those stupid sections brought my score way down.

I thought the ACT was easier than the SAT.
But I agree about the time, especially on the science section.

TIME is such a big killer on the ACT. You really need to work quickly but efficiently on every section. And if you find that you are spending more than a minute on a problem, skip it and come back if you have time. Since there's no penalty for guessing, if you do find you have 30 seconds or less left, mark all B's or all C's, etc. for the ones you couldn't get to. Don't leave answers blank!

haha why c's and b's, a's and d's need love too.

Yeah... and B's and C's are usually right,... not really a's and d's...

I thought the same thing, that the ACT is a joke compared to the SAT. But the TIMEing is so bad, you will probably not finish the reading, and you WILL NOT finish the science... I think there are like 4 passages on the reading, I was in the middle of the third one when the proctor called 5 minutes, ended up getting a 30 on the section...

My views of the science part:

It's "speed guess." It reminds me of this: You were drunk or something when your class was doing a lab, and your best friend is telling you what they did, by giving you charts, etc. Now, your teacher is giving you a "pop-lab" test, and by the time you read the questions, everyone is getting up the hand the test in.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL HANGOVER!!!!

If you want to do well on the ACT heres what you need to practice: Reading the questions and scanning a passage for an answere fast. Do the easy questions first and hard ones last (compare, whats not here etc).

Dont waste time reading anything that you dont need to. If the passage doesnt have any questions on paragraph 2 then for the love of all you believe in dont read paragraph two.

I took the SAT got a 2070, took the ACT got a 33, but damn if you cannot scan read quickly youre going to stumble.

Also take a few practice tests over a long period of time with no time limit. Get the question style "down" then break it up into 15, 12, 10 minute sections depending on # of section in reading, writing, science or w/e and time for each test.

Get to a point where you feel you can get through a section under the timelimit THEN take the whole test. Its easier than the SAT in many ways, but since there are NO breaks its a lot easier to fall behind.

PS here is prolly why people generally do better on the ACT tho. SAT will sometimes give you 4 reading sections with 120 questions total vs ACT 40 (right?). Leave guessing until the end BTW. That way IF you have time you can go back.
