Ok I recently took the ACT yesterday. It was good but also bad.
Good:
4 tests section very reasonable.
Writing second was reasonable timed.
Not much difference from the SAT with the exception of the science section.

Bad: I felt the timing is unreasonable. I barely finish only one section. 60 min for 60 question? I get more time on the SAT.
underrated.
One restroom break. And u can't eat inside the class. Also u get another break if you're doing writing section but you just sit there.
Scores... I hope I don't get it all the way in December...

I’m certainly not trying to insult your preparation for this test or your intellectual ability, however it does seem like you had no idea what the ACT had to offer previous to taking it. Most of the students that dwell on these forums prepare specifically for the ACT. The SAT does not have much correlation at all to the ACT, which I feel is a more effective test for determining a student’s achievement level. The sections on the ACT are specifically geared to those who work fast and are more comfortable with less ambiguous types of questions. I would suggest taking the ACT again, yet preparing more for the actual test itself. Find some practice materials. They are generally useful.

@CHS:
Actually I did practice a lot. I just didn’t realize the time spent would overwhelm me.
I understand there is no “correlation” between SAT and ACT but I notice that some of the questions are rather similar but maybe that just me.

Overall, I was going well on each section up until the last 10 questions of each section.
I would take the ACT again and recommend it over the SAT but I had ran out of time I’m afraid (I’m a senior).

I didn’t think the ACT was too hard; I feel that the SAT is harder. I just finished the sections as fast as I could and then double checked my answers.

This was my first time and I went in without much preparation and I thought the ACT was waaaay easier than the SAT! The format, the tension…it actually felt more like a test in school for me rather than a standardized test.
I struggled with the time permitted for each section, though, so that might have hurt my score. I answered every question, though, so that’s good.
I feel like I got decent score but since I didn’t properly prepare for the test, for all I know I might have gotten a 19, but lets hope I didn’t :/
