I might take 3 classes in the summer, all in the first session (5 weeks) FYI, I'm taking Linear Alg., Global Society and probably an LALS class, for GE. Does anyone have ANY insights? Insights on the classes, or how intensive the summer program is, any relevant tips? Thanks

It gets boring pretty quick, but it’s over in five weeks. You’re in class for several hours a day and getting three classes to match up with schedules can be pretty difficult.

I did 20 units myself this past summer (10 units in each session). First session my classes were on different days. Second session, my classes were both Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm. It was brutal and I had 10-15 minutes to get from one class to the other. I’m pretty sure I was living off of health bars on those days as I had no time to eat.

Note these were all upper division courses, though, with extensive writing requirements. I had to dedicate a lot more outside time than many would need to for some other course choices.

You cannot be sick and miss a day. Missing one day is considered the equivalent of missing a whole week of class. The timing alone makes summer very stressful with so many units. My experience was that we covered the exact same material as we would have during a normal quarter. Nothing was sacrificed.

All that aside, it is doable if you are organized and dedicated. There is no room for error as there is no time to make things up.
