So for personal reasons I basically effed up my freshman year in SAS NB 2012-13, this past year I've gotten a part time job (~30hr/wk at a chain coffeeshop you may have heard of), lost over 80lbs since this past Summer, and I've been doing 14+15 credits at my local CC, just getting transferable prereq's done and now I'm on track for a GPA of 3.8ish depending on Spring final grades. In case anyone's interested my old HS grades were fine, have some AP credit, and I got a 2110 SAT first and only try.

I have pretty high ambitions and I refuse to not end up doing something I love, with either science or medicine, particularly neuroscience, and I'll be damned if I let myself ruin that for me. As of now I still owe Rutgers 2 makeup classes because last year I failed the crap out of Calc I and Gen Bio II (got a B in Bio I though...) which weigh heavily on my Rutgers GPA, and even though I'm pretty sure I don't want to continue at Rutgers and was thinking of transferring out to another good research school (I'm liking Binghamton for spring maybe), as per Rutgers policies I still have to retake these two failed classes this Summer and at the same campus (NB) to have the "F"s replaced on my transcript, even though campus is an hour-long commute by car which I'm ready and willing to do.

So I registered this summer for Calc twice a week (Tues+Th) for all 3 sessions (May-June,June-July,July-August), Bio for only the last session but 4 times a week (Mon-Th) right before Calc and in the same building on those 2 days a week I have both, and then I also registered for a third class, Fundamentals of Neuroscience, taught by the same professor (a good, but hard one) I'll have for Bio II, and Neuro is only during the first 2 sessions, on the other 2 days a week (Mon+Wed) I don't have Calc and around the same time so it's all consistent. So it's set up that I'm not taking more than 2 classes per session, all Fridays are off, and I commute basically from 3pm or 5pm-10pm every day but Friday, and I only have 1 class per day beside the last session where I'll have 2 days of Bio right before Calc.

All in all it's 11 credits, all hardcore sci/math, but I'm confident in myself and it's completely doable for me. I'm not the same (really depressed) person I was over a year ago. I've done my research and looked at archived tests for Neuro for example, so yes I know what I'm getting into and no I'm not delusional. I am prepared to work hard for school all Summer because honestly if I didn't have school I would just do nothing or be scheduled at my job for all that time instead. I believe I'm ready for this, and I know it's only a matter of doing the work because I'm certainly capable of getting A's. So maybe this post is less of a question for the community than others, I just wanted to put my plan out there but I also value the thoughts of the community if there are any, and I'm wondering if taking so many credits is common, or maybe if there are any others in my weird position. So thanks for reading my frantic blocks of text, and you don't have to reply but any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated, so thank you!
