Taking a break from college?

I’m thinking of taking a break from community college and work.
The reason is is that im 21 and I don’t know what I want to be. I at least plan on getting a transfer degree before I take a break from college. I also want to stop using loans and pay it off as im on break and while i go back to school. I plan on paying for my own classes and still fill out financial aide in hopes of getting some free money since universities cost more (I did not get free money from going to community college).

I just really need a break right now due to parental pressure and that they keep telling me to be a nurse or doctor and refuse me to do any career that isnt highly successful. And I have little say in it due to the fact that they still support me financially.

Right now, It’s just hard to decide what I want to do. I honestly wish I never been pressured to go into college until I was ready and the stress of loans is killing me. Do you guys think this is a good game plan?

That depends-will your parents have a problem with this? You’re an adult, and can make your own decisions, yes. BUT they’re supporting you financially. So, if you have enough money to support yourself in case they do withdraw financial support, then yes, go with this plan. If you do not have the money, I suggest putting money into a savings account and tough it for long enough that you have enough saved up-along with a job-to support yourself. OR talk to your parents and present the idea.

@maddyDUMW Yeah I choose this idea because I think its the safest route and my parents have a decent paying job for a college student waiting for me. But I have yet to present the idea to them.

@maddyDUMW Basically I don’t want to continue college until I know what direction I’m going.

Take a break. It will do you good. If you don’t want college right now it will affect your grades.
