Taking ACT For First Time- Can You Actually "Study" For All Sections

I am taking the ACT for the first time in September, and have been practicing quite often. I've been using PR's Cracking the ACT, trying to pick up as many key techniques as I can ( specifically in English). I also purchased the Red Book to use for some practice tests.

My thoughts thus far: it appears to me English and Math are the only sections you can really study for using the books guides. While PR shows how to look at the questions on the English section, its also key to review a lot of Math equations/small theorums and knowing how to answer those problems.

Reading and Science appear the same to me.. The best way to practice these sections is through practice tests, as that is the only way to learn how to use your time and answer the questions.

If you have any personal advice you would like to give me on how to prepare for this tests the next few weeks, it'd be great!

Thanks

Anyone have study suggestions for me?

You’ve pretty much got it down. Reading and Science are really skill-based sections, so practice tests are the best way to prepare.

I’ve only got a semi-useful tip. The Science section has a lot of graphs and charts for you to interpret, so grab a bunch of your old lab reports and just see how you used the data. If you know how graphs/charts are made, you’ll probably know how to make sense of them.

Thanks for the advice!

No prob! Good luck. :)
