Hi,
I’m a junior in high school and I’m wondering whether or not I should drop my AP Chemistry course.
My classes this year are:
-AP US History
-AP Chemistry
-Spanish II
-AP Physics I
-AP Language and Composition
-Pre Calculus
We have already taken the first quiz in the class and I got a 60% and considering I studied for a good amount of time, I was disappointed by the score. I am shooting for mostly A’s and a couple of B’s this year. Is my work load already too much as it is? I also run a volunteer tutor center and teach violin, both of which take up a significant amount of my time.
Any help/advice is appreciated!
Theoretically, it’s not too much, but you know your capabilities better then us.
What was the median? If everyone else did poorly, that may be reflective of things other than your own abilities. Plus it’s only one quiz.
The scores ranged from 50% to 95%, though most students I’ve spoken to have scored above 80%. It also might help to know that I plan on doing Pre-Med in college.
Since you are planning Pre-Med, you either need to get a tutor quickly and be determined to master Chemistry and truly understand it, or you need to re-think your future in medicine, and look at possible careers related to subjects that come naturally to you, that you actually enjoy, and that you excel at in comparison to others.
