Taking AP tests and equivalent SAT Subject tests in the same year?

I am going to start self studying three AP tests for May and I'm thinking about taking the corresponding SAT subject tests as well. This would change my original AP subject choices, but it might be worth it in my case. Anyway, I'd like to know whether it's easy to simultaneously study for AP/SAT subject tests in World Hist, US History and English Literature.

Thanks!

US History and World History, if you are going to self-study, are (I hate to say it) rote memorization.

If you are an avid reader, you really don’t even need to “study” for English Lit besides being sure you’re familiar with many of the classics.

You can get a 5 on the history exams easier than you can an 800 on the corresponding SAT subject tests. If you find these subjects genuinely interesting, then go for it. Otherwise, you may just waste your time.

Are you taking any classes in school now that correspond to the subject tests (i.e. AP Physics, Bio, etc.)?

I have twins who both took APUSH courses last year. They both took the AP exams and scored 4. They both found the SAT Subject Test (taken in May) more challenging and were disappointed with their scores in the low to mid 600’s.

Their experience might be more a reflection of their teacher and the course preparation focusing on the AP. At least it gives you one (or two, since they are twins) more data point.
