I'm guessing nobody will have any first hand experience with this...and I will eventually ask someone at my university to get a definitive answer, but....

Has anyone in a PhD program taken courses at their universities medical school? My department requires that two courses be taken outside of the department and the courses most applicable to my own research are at the med school. Problem is most of them are second year clinical training courses that I'm guessing are a bit more restricted than 1st year courses.

My PhD program is at a medical school, so I don’t know if that counts. :)

Sometimes, at least at my institution, MD-only classes are restricted to MD students of a certain year. The courses for MDs, PhDs, and others tend to be much more flexible. But at my institution, PhD students would not be permitted to take a med student clinical course. Your mileage may vary significantly.
