Taking classes at two different community colleges in the same district?

The community college in my city would obviously be much more convenient to drive to every day, but there's another college about half an hour or so away from where I live that has the Associate's Degree I want to obtain (Film Production). Both colleges are part of the same community college district. My question is, would it be possible for me to take General Ed classes at my city's college, while taking the AA classes at the other college? If so, are their any advantages to attending two colleges within the same district as opposed to two separate districts in terms of financial aid and transferring credits?

I think it’s OK if the two colleges belong to the same district. But the best answer is to ask your specific college counselor or to read the college policy.

It’s definitely OK however you probably need to make sure your counseling is done at the school with Film Prod classes so you’re set when you petition for graaduation. Advantage is you have two places to choose your classes from. For same district, you don’t need to transfer credits (that’s the case for some districts in Orange County) but ask counselor. You can take classes (GE or major) at other districts, and you’ll have to transfer these units to your “home” college. Sorry I don’t know how FA is affected.
