So I ran NPC for the majority of my schools and the results were pretty decent. Any schools that are $30,000 and below I am thinking about keeping on, as I could get more financial aid/merit aid/negotiate the package. However, the University of Michigan came out to be $46,000 and Northeastern came out to right around $40,000. As an out of state student for both should I just take these off now?
Yes, take them off your list.
Alright thank you
Being OOS for Northeastern has no significance as it’s private, but agree that it’s way too far over budget to keep on your list.
Please please stop asking the same basic question in different posts. You have been given the same answer to this many times and it won’t change. If a school is unaffordable and you are not a serious candidate for merit aid take it off your list.
Take them off your list. Moving forward your college list should have 3 categories:
A. Schools that meet full need and come in at $30,000 or less based on the NPC.
B. 2-3 SUNY schools (at least)
C. Schools that will give you assured merit for your stats, and schools that may give you merit but it’s not guaranteed. Throw in a lottery award school if you wish.
Once you have done your research, discussed with your parents, etc…you can share your final list. Right now you have work to do.
I don’t understand why it bothers you though if I’m just looking for advice.
How’s Binghamton, Albany, and Buffalo?
They are good
Thanks
