Taking consortium classes: realistic?

Is it realistic to take any more than a handful of courses over four years in other consortium schools?

Can you work up a schedule that allows time to get around?

Can you get a seat in other school's classes when you want one?

Is the task of navigating five different course catalogs too overwhelming?

Do people actually take a large number of courses at other schools?

Which schools' students seem to take a lot of courses elsewhere?

I haven't taken any courses at the other colleges here in the area since none of them offer courses for my major (Sport Management). I don't know anyone personally who takes courses at the other colleges as well. Depending on the class size I'm sure it's not that hard to get a seat in a class. It is very doable to work your schedule around the classes, but you have to remember to factor in the bus time it will take to get there. Buses run constantly to Amherst College, but less than that to MHC and Smith.

I plan on taking a course in geography at MHC for my minor sometime when I am a senior and I can be more flexible in my schedule. Also, check out the course guide here:
