Taking Differential Equations at CC Over the Summer

I’m an incoming ECE transfer for the fall 2015 semester and I’m currently taking a transferable Calculus 3 course for my local community college’s “Summer 1” session. I could potentially register to take a transferable 3-week Differential Equations course (M 427K) for their “Summer 2” session, but I’m not entirely sure if that would be to my benefit. Although I’d be ahead in math courses for a typical UT Engineering student (assuming no credit was claimed for math courses), I’d feel that it wouldn’t be as fulfulling/wouldn’t learn as much compared to taking M 427K at UT. What are your opinions? Thanks!

Make sure that the class transfers as M 427K and not M 327K, because Engineering may or may not accept that, depending on your major, since you would be missing a few topics.

If you take it, make sure you get an A or B – a C in transfer may not compare well to UT.
Also, M 427K at UT will have a new course number: M 427J, but either are acceptable. M 427J will have some linear algebra/matrix topics.
Good luck!
