Advanced Calculus for Applications 1 AKA Differential Equations (M 427K) at UT or ACC?

I am hoping someone who has taken Differential Equations at UT can give me some advice. I am a transfer student and I've heard from multiple people that UT calculus is a real bear. I have taken calculus 1-3 at ACC where we were allowed to use calculators and the grading had fairly large curves. My main concern is establishing a strong GPA my first semester at UT. Is Differential Equations worth avoiding at UT and taking at ACC instead?
