Taking Initiative..

Current junior afraid that their HS schedule wasn't rigorous enough.

9th Grade: Two Honors, + as rigorous as jr. high school gets
10th Grade: One AP, One Honors, + stupid electives
11th Grade: One AP, One Honors, + serious courses
12th Grade: Four AP, + serious courses

There are 12 total AP Courses at my school (One being AP Art) I will have taken 6 by the end of senior year.
I'm interested in highly competitive schools so is there anyway I could show more academic interest over the summer?

-I'm considering CTYOnline but I don't know if $1220 for one course shows that I'm academically interested or blessed with wealthy parents.

Perhaps FREE ways I could show academic interest? (If that exists..)

First of all, definitely DONT spend $1220 for one AP course… that is just plain ridiculous and a waste of your time.

Second of all, 6 APs is nothing to scoff at, especially when you only have 12 offered at your school… technically you took half of the ones that you school offered.

Okay sounds good!
~thanks

Just hoping my school counselor will feel the same way…

I only took 6 AP courses over the course of my high school career, and my schools offers ~10. Out of the 4 ivies I applied to I was accepted to 3 and waitlisted at the remaining one. So I’d say no, it won’t kill you.

I’d also agree that’s a complete waste of money for 1 AP course over the summer.
