My son may not be able to take the SAT in June, so we are considering having him take it in May. He just took the March SAT so we won’t know his score. In general, he is weak in math and strong in reading, so I wonder if just doing extra prep work for the math section and some for reading will be enough. He took an SAT prep class prior to the March exam, which was the first time he has ever taken an SAT (never took old version).
Does it make sense to do this? My friend thinks waiting until October is better, but I want to do it while he’s in the mode, so to speak
It is not ideal to take May test, but if you have a new PSAT score from October it can serve as a proxy for 3/5 score… here’s a suggestion: set up a Khan Academy account for your kid & then link his/her College Board account with the October 2015 new PSAT scores to Khan… it’s easy to do - just see College Board site once you log in - and then have your student use the Khan Academy online materials to work on his strengths/weaknesses for May test. My junior just took 3/5 new SAT and we used Khan with the linked PSAT scores so he was able to drill down and work on areas needing improvement. Also Khan has 4 full/complete new SAT tests your child can take & get score via the software.
