Taking ME C85 without Math 54

Hello, I have already signed up for ME C85 but I will no longer be able to take Math 54 concurrently this semester. To those who have taken the class, is being in or having taken Math 54 essential to succeeding in ME C85? I would not mind learning a bit of the math through the ME class ahead of time, but I do not want to be unable to perform in the class.

Any suggestions on whether I should drop ME C85 and wait till the spring to take both?
Thanks

It’s not like ME C85 covers matrix transform or ordinary differential equations which are topics in Math 54 so you should be fine. I think knowing Math 53 more important to understand concepts like double integration.

The thing you need from Math 54 is determinants, eigenvalues and eigenvectors. If you can do that, you won’t need Math 54.

alright I’ll look into those, thanks guys
