Taking Organic Chemistry in the Summer

Has anyone taken organic chemistry or any heavy science course(since i have more to look forward to :D) in the summer ? I want to catch up on the courses that I have to take so I can get closer to graduating. It feels like i’ve been in school forever and I’ve had a lot of setbacks. I probably may only take that class in the summer. What would you say are pros and cons to this? Let me know!
If it helps i am a dietetic major.

organic chemistry is a tough class…trying to cram it in half or less of the time does not sound like a recipe for success.

If you have a knack for chemistry and can learn things very quickly then it is fine to take it in the summer. It is common for premed students to take it during summer so they can concentrate on it without the distractions of other class tests and deadlines.

My D was a Zoology major and took O Chem 1 and 2 during the summer, every day from 7-2:30 for 3 weeks each. It went fine for her and many of the others.

My daughter took organic chemistry 2 during the summer and it worked out nicely for her. She felt that organic chemistry 1 prepared her well… but she is also strong in the sciences. I don’t think you will get one definitive answer… too many variables.

Not recommended. It’s hard enough as it is during a full semester. A summer class will be extremely fast paced.

Organic chemistry is hard and time consuming… my daughter had well over 200 problems each night. Keep that in mind if you are still considering summer.
