My son has got undergrad admission from few Universities.
After reading some reviews, we are really confused which one to choose for Registration by 1st May.
Now, to take some more time to finalize our decision, Can we register in 2 Universities (one within University of California chain and another outside that chain).
This will give us at least two to three extra months to come to a firm decision.

No! It is strictly against the rules to double deposit. You must pick one by May 1 and commit to it. Your son signed an agreement to do this when he applied.
You absolutely cannot do this. It is illegal. If it is discovered, your son will have all his acceptances rescinded. Colleges can and do use the national clearinghouse database to see where students are registered for college. If he is caught he will also have a black mark against his name. He has to decide like everyone else by May 1. He doesn’t get special rules just for him and everyone else has to go by the rules.

Or you could pick the school where it is easier to get in-state tuition, since according to your other posts, that is something you desire as well… excuse my cynicism, but this is your second post this week that is exploring possible unethical ideas… your son has great options and possibly a great future - don’t blow it by trying to game the system
Simple answer: no!
You cannot have two deposits in on May 1 - it would be ground for the acceptance being rescinded at both schools.
From other posts you seem to be trying to get in-state rates although you are non-citizen (green card holder) living abroad with no residence in the US and not paying any state taxes… That won’t happen. So if you are planning to send in different deposits hoping to get in-state tuition somewhere it would be a waste of time and you could be setting your child up to have both acceptances rescinded.

Quite frankly you need to play by the same rules as everyone else. You are not an exception.
What would you learn in two to three additional months that you don’t already know?
@Bapi, I hope you are reading these posts! Your son will mess up his future if he tries to enroll in two universities. They will find out (it doesn’t matter that they aren’t both UC schools) and he will have no place to go. If the moral considerations don’t bother you, the practical ones should.
Almost everyone who applies to college has the dilemma of trying to choose. You just have to pick one and go for it. Once you’ve chosen a school, you really won’t think about the one you turned down.

You have to pick one.
You will not get in state tuition in MD or CA unless you do some serious lying and/or forgery. This will be discovered, your son will be expelled and possibly prosecuted, along with you. You seem oblivious to the advice offered on your other threads.
It would be very easy to find out by the university particularly if you applied for financial aid. By paying the deposit, you are committed to that school. One can always withdraw if got accepted from waitlist on another school, but putting deposits on 2 schools is not just immoral, it is illegal.
