Taking SAT 2 if Korean but born in US?

So I'm seriously considering taking the SAT 2 Korean, but I heard that if you are Korean and you take the SAT 2 Korean, unless you get a 800, then it looks bad.
However, I was born in America, and have been raised here, and my first language/official language used at home is English. I've been learning Korean by watching Korean programs, etc.

Say if I get less than a 800 on the test, how would that look on my application?
Additionally, if I DO get a 800, how would that look? Is it still a negative?

I'm applying to very competitive universities and colleges (Ivies, UCs, Columbia, LACs, etc.), and an answer concerning those two questions mentioned above in respect to these colleges would be great!

I already know that UCs and Stanford are more "we don't really care what you take", but a straightforward answer would be really appreciated :)

fun fact: columbia is an Ivy!
as for your question, I have no idea and I’m not going to pretend like the majority of users on this board.

if your parents were born in korea and you have an asian last name
it’s not going to be as good as taking and doing well on another sat II.

Well, you’re not fluent so maybe…

I called Princeton once and asked if I will take a subject in my native language how will they look at it and will they accept it.

The guy in the admission office told me 2 things
a)a good score won’t hurt you BUT!!!
b) we know that you know that language so it won’t be impressive like a good score in math or something

I’m Korean too and I was overhearing one of my friends talk to our teacher (SAT prep) today in class about the same question and the teacher highly recommended her to NOT take it even though her first language was English. Basically, if you don’t think you’ll get 800 then you should consider not taking it. Apparently they expect you to get 800 on Korean if you’re Korean. BTW, the average score for Korean SAT II on Collegeboard is 760, which is insanely high.

But if you’re taking a foreign language that’s not related to you’re nationality like any other language then you should be fine.

What if you are Korean but don’t know Korean and take the test? How do they know if you know it or not? Do they just assume?

use it when you need a 3rd SAT II but don’t have time to prep for another. I think they prefer legit academic subjects. I predict an 800 for myself as well, but that would be pointless wouldn’t it?
