I applied for an internship in China that would be from next July through November, hence I would have to take that semester off. I'm a semester ahead in credit and don't need the credit to graduate on time still, so I would simply take that semester off from class and just have the internship. Would law schools look at this positively, negatively, or neutrally?

Why do you think they might look at this negatively? Go to China and have a ball. It’s a fascinating place. The internship will help your life be much more interesting than if you sit around wondering what law schools are thinking.
