Hi.I asked one of the admission officer in WUSTL if I could retake my SAT on January 22nd and send the scores. She said I could but she can't guarantee that they'll be reviewed as I'm sending them after the deadline? So should I still retake in January?

What’s your current SAT score?

610W
660CR
700M
1970 combined.

That is a low score for WashU, so it does make sense to take it again. If you get higher scores, it would improve your odds at WashU.

However, that is a good score in general, so you should be competitive for admittance at a lot of great schools. What other schools are you applying to?

But do you think they might not look at my scores since its sent after the deadline?

I don’t know if admissions will see the scores but you don’t have much to lose. Those scores are very low for Wash U and I don’t give you much more than a very slight chance of admission unless they get higher. If you find out that admissions certainly won’t see the scores, you obviously shouldn’t take the SAT again. But if there’s any chance at all, I would go ahead and do it.
