Taking the SAT multiple times...

How do colleges view taking the SAT multiple times? I know soon CollegeBoard will allow students to select which SAT scores to send, but some colleges will still want all the scores and I think it would make an application stronger to send all scores.

I am a Junior, taking the SAT in January for summer program applications (I "bombed" the PSAT and do not want to send that). I've taken practice tests from the blue book and I'm getting scores I consider good enough for the summer program (2200s) but I really want to try and get it higher than what I'm testing for when I apply to universities.

So my questions is basically will colleges/universities think badly of you if you retake the SAT? Even if it is separated by a few months/a semester and you improve?

Thank you

Many threads. Search.

To save you that search, I don't think colleges look down upon it. I haven't done a search or anything, but I think that colleges expect top students to take tests multiple times. Some consider your highest score in one sitting, others are even generous and superscore. I can't imagine how it could hurt your application. My counselor tells me colleges like to see improvement over time, so if in your first sitting you get a 2200 and in your second you score a 2300, they'll see that you're still learning.

Just fyi, you can't send PSAT scores even if you wanted to =(
