Taking trig in place of pre-calc?

I really wonder why I'm asking online for academic guidance, but I'm just wondering if anyone has done it (refer to thread title). I'm thinking about taking Trigonometry at the local CC, because my counselor said we could. I'm just wondering about how well it would prepare us for IB Math (I really don't know the name of it in my school, the curriculum guide is vague on it) and AP Calc AB (maybe BC if I REALLY learn it).

Take Pre-Calc. Trust me

^Agreed. Much is covered in Pre-calc that will lay a foundation for your future math classes.

Yet, some pre-calc material works with radians and other trig-topics.
Something to consider.
