Taking two langauges at the same time?

i took korean (101/102) my 1st year and am continuing it into my second year.
but i also wanted to learn japanese as well and so i've added it to my fall sem schdle.

i'd just like to know some more opinions/thoughts on this,
i've heard that japanese at UVA is extremely difficult, i was hoping anyone who has experienced that class could further elaborate a little on the course. (50 vocab a lesson? :/)

the prof i have for japanese is tomoko marshall.
and i did email him for his opinion but i'd just like to get a little more thoughts on this :)

and also i know it depends on my other courses - so just to put it out there,
i have psych 215 (cog), edlf 555 (multicultural education), and hopefully! anth 240 (language & culture)

thanks

edlf 555 is extremely easy and anth 240 is also a pretty class…you should be fine. I was taking french and portuguese at the same time (I know, def. not as hard as Korean & Japanese), but close enough to get them confused.

haha thanks, yeah i tried to pick a lighter course load outside those two language classes,
i don’t really know what i want to major in, maybe cogsci, but i’m not sure, all i know is that i really want to learn languages ;P

on a side note, oohh portuguese sounds pretty cool. i took french in high school, hopefully if i get those two languages above mastered, i can learn french too.
i think i’m too ambitious haha. i’m already lacking in my native tongue (mandarin)… sigh.

thanks
