i like sashimi.

^sashimi is awesome, though I generally prefer sushi. Though of course, Chinese food>>>>>>>>>any other type of food =D

what is sashimi? I've never head of it. >: I have pretty boring taste buds, honestly... though I do LOVE indian food.

IT'S LIKE A DRUG

Churros are amazing!
Most delicious guaranteed-to-give-you-diabetes-and-high-cholesterol-deep-fried-dough snack ever created XDDD!

Agreed. Any asian food is scrumptious. Though I'm not too fond of those chocolate covered bugs I saw in the Travel Channel once...:p

OMG eurydice you've never even HEARD of sashimi?! Where do you live, Texas? Have you ever had Japanese food before? Anyways it's basically sushi without the roll/veggies, so just raw fish really..and it tastes much better than it sounds.

I won't lie..... that sounds minorly terrifying. D: And I used to live in Texas XD but I live in Ohio now. I just come from a really boring family, food-wise. We eat a looootttt of steak at my house. :P

How is the fish prepared? If you don't cook it, what do you do to it?

Juanes243, I'll have to disagree and say that Chinese food>all other Asian food =P And lol the chocolate-covered bugs, like overpriced cab fare, are a Western Tourist Trap.

You sound like you come from a family of adventurous eaters, eurydice. Have you ever had sushi? The fish in sushi is raw. You don't need to do anything to it, it tastes really good on its own. Sashimi will sometimes be sprinkled with some lemon juice, depending on the type of fish, but it usually is just dipped in soy sauce+wasabi (though if it's been sprinkled with lemon juice, you don't usually dip it in soy sauce+wasabi). NOMNOMNOM.

Well, the chefs who prepare it have to make sure it's 'sashimi grade', or in other words, really really clean, really really fresh, and basically top-notch quality. It has to be served the day you take it home, and you eat it cold.

But it's really, really good. As spazzity said it's dipped in soy sauce and sometimes a bit of wasabi and then you pop it in your mouth. It tastes incredibly fresh. It's kind of like the difference between eating warm mushy steamed cucumber slices and crunching into a cold fresh raw cucumber slice. You should really give it a try.

all this food talk is making me hungry....

haha I know you're Colombian... I mean Juanes.. really! how much more Colombian can you get.. Camilo is the only other name that is more Colombian than Juanes hahaaa

I'm Venezuelan, so of course I'll forever disagree with you, although I do like your arepas as well, only ours are better :] haha

unagi donburi and spicy agedashi tofu...YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Oh dude I thought that Juanes was a reference to Juanes the musician...lol.

anyone into Orishas?

MMMM i had sashimi tonight

if i somehow get into columbia, i will cook for all of youuuuuu

Okay, so I'm Asian, but I've never had sushi. Ironic, huh?

I can't believe I'm on this forum AGAIN. I was working on apps until I got online half an hour ago hahaha.

What are Orishas?

haha okay I just created an account for the purpose of joining this discussion about sashimi. I've been lurking forever, but my passion for sashimi is such that I can't stay silent. sashimi..so good! The best is tuna.

Haha, that's the spirit. My favorite sashimi is salmon, personally. It's so flavorful. Tuna's flavor seems a little more muted in sashimi form. But either way I wouldn't mind a plate of it right now. :)

Orishas is a band (just as long as we were on the Juanes topic).

I love how we are all talking about food! Much better way to deal with the suspense than stressing over stats and chances.

Haha. Well Juanes isn't actually my name. It's Juan Esteban (I have the same name as the musician's). So yeah, people call me Juanes for short.
Bad part is, the musician stole my nickname and made it international =(.
Andddd he was born in the same city I was born :P.
So yeah, talk about identity theft.
