Talking about breaking the law in essays?

I have never broken a serious law, I’m not a felon, and have never been tried.

I was just wondering if in an essay for college app if it is okay to mention speeding? I don’t mean like going 75 mph in the school zone, but something along the lines of “Regardless of whether that was the result of my first day qualms, or the result of my just-above-the-speed-limit driving, I had arrived quite early.”

Is this okay to have in an essay, or is it best to just avoid speeding all together? That’s the only reference I had to it, just the possible cause me getting somewhere early.

I think you’re overthinking it…just say “rushing” and get on with your essay.
