Talking about my start-up during interviews.. (Business Major)

I’ll make this simple.

During my interviews, I always find myself talking about my start-up because I talk about entrepreneurship a lot.

The interview often ends with the interviewer knowing a bunch of things about my start-up, but sometimes I am unable to answer some of the questions they ask about my business because they are way to complicated and my start-up is not at that kind of advanced level.

So what I think is that talking about my business is a bad idea. I feel like it sometimes disappoints the interviewer if I fail to answer a question he/she asks. However, I plan to major in business… So it might also be a great way of showing passion…

I can definitely control the interview so that I never have to talk about my start-up, do you guys think I should?

Any help would be much appreciated!

@tammiluv‌: “but sometimes I am unable to answer some of the questions they ask about my business because they are way to (sic) complicated and my start-up is not at that kind of advanced level.”

I have learned from many wise and experienced leaders, in a great number of professions, that if an individual is bright and articulate – important admissions criteria – he can simplify and cogently explain almost anything at the listener’s level of expertise. That might be a good skill to develop.

What’s wrong with saying “That’s a very good question, but we haven’t addressed it because we aren’t at that level yet”?

I don’t like to talk about entrepreneurship much. It’s a relatively rare trait and more often than not, it leaves the other person feeling a little uncomfortable.

I think it is fine to talk about your business since it seems to be a passion. And it is perfectly OK to say something like “The business hasn’t reached that level yet, but thanks for giving me something I should consider as I forward”

Out of curiosity, what kind of questions are you alluding to? I’m just trying to understand why you can’t answer them, or at least give a prediction or something of the sort…

exactly what kind of questions are you unable to answer?
