Tall Men Get Better Educations

This study is flawed. What other characteristics were taken into account? Just really tall vs. really short? How tall is 165 cm, 5'4"? Seriously, how many men are over 6'4" and shorter than 5'4"? I would argue that the majority of the world's men are between these two heights and there is no way to make a positive correlation between height and education/earnings. It's just way too narrow. Other factors play a larger role, IMO, like where you are in the sibling order, how proportionate your weight is to your height, what type of personality you have, and ultimately who your parents are!!

As for females, I think success rates has more to do with their bra size than their height. In fact, height probably has little to do with it if the bra size is sufficient enough. (half kidding of course)

a similar study:

<a href="http://www.upenn.edu/researchatpenn/article.php?79&soc%5B/url%5D">http://www.upenn.edu/researchatpenn/article.php?79&soc</a></p>

Interesting...I buy the logic given in the UPenn study more. It makes a lot of sense that taller dudes in High School years are usually more confident... However, tall lurps who suck at sports can also have it REALLY rough in the High school years, because they are pointed out more (at least in my experience).

dude, I think it's cause most of the time some insanely tall person over 6'4" would be... idk... some superstar athlete making millions+ such as Shaq?
correlation does not imply causation because there are confounding factors (gotta love stats)

awesome I'm 193cm

I better not mension the fact that tall people are generally of north-western european descent... I might get called a racist! Just pointing out that people in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland tend to be taller than people in other parts of the world.

Most of those countries have the highest living standards in the world. That's not a coincidence.

Makes sense.Taller better looking men will usually be more successful.......

There was an older study that showed that women live longer than men. A later study about 10 years ago found a correlation between height an lifespan. The shorter you are, the longer you live. This also explains the correlation between gender and lifespan since women are statistically shorter than men.

Non-statisticians always seem kind confused about what correlations are. The show that two variables increase, decrease, or occur together to a greater degree than random chance can explain. However, they don't prove anything. You need to come up with a causal relationship.

Studies have shown that good looking people are statistically more likely to make more money and even less likely to be convicted in court. A possible causal relationship to explain the gender-lifespan correlation is that the heart has to beat harder. I'm not suggesting that this is true, but the causal relationship, if it can be found, is what is important.

i'm 5'6 and i'm a girl too. haha. i don't mind my height at all. it'd be nice to be 5'7, but i really don't care, to be honest.

Average height in the NBA = 6' 7.5"

Average salary in the NBA = $4.9mm

I guess that proves it!! :)

I know someone famous in the NBA, 6' 11", earns over $15 million a year. I know a former NCAA freshman jock, 6' 4", good law school, went into business after practicing law, earns ove $50 million a year and owns the company. But I don't know anyone under 6' tall who earns squat above professional class income.
