Tall Guys Are More Successful

I can't wait to be offered interviews, jobs, and more money because I am tall!

anyone else?

Oh and its proven science

The average American man is 5'9'', the average fortune 500 CEO is 6'

In the US, 14.5% of Men are 6' or taller, among fortune 500 CEOs 58% are 6' or taller

In the US, 3.9% of Men are 6'2'' or taller, among fortune 500 CEOs 30% are 6'2'' or taller

On average, a person earns $789 more per inch they are taller than someone else.

:D

Correlation =/ causation. Your stats don’t prove anything.

Just saying…

"Correlation =/ causation. Your stats don’t prove anything. "

This.

lmao this is a really good ■■■■■ thread

I completely agree. Generally those who are taller possess a certain quality that either fills the room or a ca Manding quality. Taller people also usually receive more respect. Therefore it would make sense that those who are successful in terms of millions of dollars are generally tall.

Agreed, though one could argue that it’s not because it’s so obviously a ■■■■■ thread.
Idk how people are actually thinking he’s serious. XD

^or am I?

I mean, on one level, tall people are more successful

On another level, short people don’t like that.

I met a really short guy the other day, like five feet tall I’d guess. He’s 20 years old, drives a Mustang and has a pretty hot (albeit very neurotic girlfriend).

I’m 6’1", have no car and no girlfriend.

Well then I was clearly wrong

/thread

to the OP,

You should do some kind of field research on this! Now that would make an interesting thesis.

I think smaller men try harder !

I’m 5 foot 4 something… looks like i should just give up on life

I’m 5’11" OP :(

Nice I’m 6’1! Looks like I can stop trying in school, I’m already set to be a CEO :D

People seem to confuse the statement “correlation does not imply causation” with “correlation precludes causation.”

Of course, being tall is itself a huge advantage in society. No one even needs an empirical study to prove that. However, I still think that being physically attractive is a far bigger advantage.

If you think being tall is easier than being short, you have clearly never shopped for jeans.

sigh

Perhaps taller men have more confidence, which shows in their work ethic and/or presentability?

Napoleon, while he was alive, might have disagreed with you, but he was too busy conquering 3/4 of Europe.

well I guess Napoleon alone demolishes this whole theory

I have shopped for jeans, pain in the ass when you are tall and skinny. We have gotten to the point where jean makers just assume everyone is fat I guess. Getting shoes is pretty bad too when you have big feet.

The correlation is not causation thing definitely applies. I personally think that it’s actually due to a correlation between height and confidence, and the confidence in effect leads to success. However, that’s just my personal belief based on empirical, biased “evidence” that I’ve seen in my life; by no means is this scientifically sound.

Napoleon and Nicolas Sarkozy may be short, but they are undoubtedly extremely confident people.
