TAMU Coalition App Essays 1 or 2?

My son is working on his app to Texas A&M using the Coalition App. as an out of state applicant. We are trying to sort out how many essays he needs.

He’s applying for engineering so will do the required engineering essay.

Beyond that, it appears that he needs one essay using the prompt:
“FRESHMAN Essay Spring / Fall 2021 Applicants
Apply Texas and Coalition Essay: Tell us your story. What unique opportunities or challenges have you experienced throughout your high school career that have shaped who you are today?”

Does that mean he doesn’t need the standard Coalition App essay?

Never mind. He finished his application. It apparently did not need the regular Coalition essay.

There were additional parts of the app that he wasn’t expecting so we are glad that he wasn’t doing it the very last day.
